To reach the meeting location for the bus tour, head to the plaza across the street from the Old Town graveyard. The address is 2415 San Diego Ave, San Diego, CA 92110. Look for the gunslinger’s cut-out statues and flagpole in the plaza. You will see a cigar bar and a brewery as well. Keep an eye out for our ghost bus as well.

This small feeding population consists of about 60 individuals, and we will be on the lookout for these beautiful creatures while paddling through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve. Our naturalist guide will point out marine and bird life and teach you about local ecology and conservation efforts.

All equipment is provided: Kayak, life vest, binoculars, and field guides.

Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo presents indigo through stunning objects of creative expression and the astonishing study of a chemical reaction.

Blue Gold is among more than 70 exhibitions and programs presented as part of Getty’s 2024 PST ART initiative, Art & Science Collide. Discover the roles of botany, chemistry, ecology, and economics in indigo cultivation and dive into a deeper appreciation for blue hues. Through workshops and talks led by local artists, including a Master Craftsman Lecture with Porfirio Gutiérrez and Dyeing Classes with Sarah Winston, be immersed in the world of indigo. There is magic in the transformation from plant to pigment.

Learn some sailor skills, explore the buildings essential to training, learn fun facts about the recruit experience, and gain an understanding of the history of the Naval Training Center.
