Fall is a great season for viewing giant blue and finback whales. The giant blue whales can exceed 80 feet in length and is the largest living creature to have ever lived. It is ironic that the largest of all animals feeds on tiny shrimp-like creatures called krill. Fall months will often have blue whales lunge feeding, taking in tons of the tiny krill in a single day. Along with blue whales, the second largest whale, the finback whale, is often viewed, as well as humpback whales, and minke whales.
