Walking Tour of Historic Coronado

Glimpse into the Past

Every Sunday at 11 am & Tuesday - Friday at 1 pm

One of the best ways to experience the history of Coronado is to go on a historic walking tour. This is the secret that Coronado locals know: it takes time to sense the past. When you slow down, you have a chance to see, hear, and remember this place that Hollywood stars, princes, and presidents have enjoyed. Everywhere you look in this charming beach town, you find history. And, that history is easiest to see on foot–when you have a chance to linger in front of a tiny, shingled house, perhaps, and meet the resident as he comes out into the yard to water his roses and tells you about the multiple generations who have lived in the home. Or, when you seemingly stumble upon the magical house from which the Wizard of Oz was born. Read more for location & price details.

BOARDED! A New Pirate Adventure

Jul 13, 2024

These popular 90-minute Pirate-themed performances are staged aboard the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s 16th century Spanish galleon San Salvador. Guests will be fully engaged in pirate theatrics at the dock and underway on San Diego Bay. This hilarious interactive show puts visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills.

Two shows to choose from at 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Check-in 30 minutes prior to your performance time. And remember general admission is included! SO plan to stay and play and tour the Museum fleet and exhibits before or after your show!

Ocean Connectors Wildlife Kayaking Eco Tour

May 18, 2024

Be an Ocean Connector and join us on a Wildlife Kayaking adventure!

Did you know that San Diego Bay provides foraging habitat for the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle? This small feeding population consists of about 60 individuals, and we will be on the lookout for these beautiful creatures on our Wildlife Kayaking Eco Tour while paddling through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve. Our naturalist guide will point out local wildlife and teach you about the turtles in our bay, as well as local ecology and conservation efforts.

Best of all, proceeds of your Eco Tour ticket go to our nonprofit environmental education programs. Which directly supports youth in underserved Pacific coastal communities.
