In North County San Diego, lies one of Southern California's best kept secrets...
Step back in time to the oldest producing winery in Southern California, where wine, family and old world hospitality come together. Family owned and operated by the Rizzo family for three generations, the Bernardo Winery offers wines grown, pressed and bottled in San Diego since 1889. They specialize in regional varietals such as Petite Syrah, Syrah, Sangiovese, Albarino, Viognier and Zinfandel.
The Bernardo Winery tasting room is open daily for visitors to sample the handcrafted wines. Guests can also enjoy the atmosphere of the original buildings and winemaking equipment, the vineyards, gardens, and winery village. The village offers a variety of unique shops and art galleries, cafe, coffee roaster and coffee shop. You can stay for the day!
Besides daily wine tasting, the winery is home to a variety of unique shops and art galleries, beautiful landscape and cafes boasting fresh Southern California fare in a casual setting. Bernardo Winery has something for all of our visitors from around the globe, whether you come to wine taste or just enjoy the rustic charm of the winery and shopping village. Families are welcome!
