SDTA recently released a dynamic new mobile version of its website, www.sandiego.org.
The San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) recently unveiled a dynamic new mobile version of its website, http://m.SanDiego.org. The sleek new site is a convenient on-the-go travel tool for visitors; chock full of information on local hotels, attractions, restaurants, transportation, tours and more.
Currently attracting more than 7 million online visitors annually, SanDiego.org is the official travel resource for the region, assisting leisure and business travelers with their trips to San Diego. Now when visitors access SanDiego.org from a smart phone or handheld device, they are automatically redirected to the mobile platform of the website.
"About 25% of our website traffic is from a smart phone," said Joe Terzi, President and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority. "We had to create a sleek seamless connection to travelers on the go. Now with just the swipe of a finger, San Diego visitors can book a hotel room, discover what restaurants, attractions and activities are nearby, and even create a Favorites page," Terzi added.
The new m.SanDiego.org site welcomes visitors with a vibrant warm, sunny interface of rotating imagery – embodying the San Diego brand – along with a truncated, fully functional version of the desktop website.
Key features on the new m.SanDiego.org include:The mobile website development company mobiManage built the new m.SanDiego.org. Managed through Sitecore, a Microsoft .NET CMS platform, the new website offers increased flexibility for SDTA's 1,000-plus member organizations that can access an extranet feature to publish content directly to both the desktop and mobile versions of the website. This ensures that site content is fresh and up to date with the newest destination information and special offers.
