3/14/15 - 3/14/15
At 23 years old, the San Diego Jewish Film Festival has both the maturity and the freedom that comes with age to program films that reach out to various segments of the community. This year our films explore many facets of contemporary Jewish life, the arts, history, politics, and personalities. The films also reflect our Jewish identity in the context of the world at large with all of the issues, challenges and rewards that come with it.
New York is a sub-theme of this year's festival. You will have the pleasure of hearing music that thrives in the Big Apple from Julliard to the Bowery, watching the cacophony of political life and personalities, absorbing the visual images captured from immigrant life, the theatre and more.
For the first time you will have an opportunity to see an amazing program of shorts from the Sha'ar HaNegev, our sister city in Israel. You will also meet a visiting professor and student from Sapir College, as well as learn about daily life in the Negev!
Last year's colorful Underwriter track in the centerfold of the program guide was a resounding success. It enabled devoted film goers to see almost every single film in the festival. Watch for it again and it will lead you through a great deal of cinematic enjoyment.
No forward to the festival program guide would be complete without an expression of enormous gratitude to all of you for your generous support. Your financial contributions, your presence at the screenings, and your continuing enjoyment are essential to our well being and our future. We thank you for helping us provide you and the San Diego community with this cultural experience.
