Military-only Campgrounds

Take a little R&R in San Diego campgrounds reserved exclusively for military and defense-related employees. From the famous surfing beach at San Onofre in the north to a private marina and cove off Coronado Island in the south, the military campgrounds in San Diego offer activities for the whole family.

Navy Campgrounds

• Admiral Baker Field Campground
  This year-round campground is centrally located in San Diego, alongside the Admiral Baker Golf Course in Mission Gorge. It is available for active and retired military, National Guard, reservists, 100% DAV and DoD (under this command only). The maximum stay is 30 days with 14 days out. Facilities include playground equipment, an outdoor swimming pool, picnic areas, two volleyball courts, three basketball courts, three ball fields, two tennis courts and two horseshoe pits. Free WiFi is available and pets are allowed. Reservations are accepted 90 days in advance for active duty military and 60 days in advance for retired military and DoD employees.
  
  
• Fiddler's Cove Marina & RV Park
  Overlooking San Diego Bay with views of the Coronado Bridge and Downtown San Diego, this year-round RV park is perfect for fishing and sailing enthusiasts or anyone who loves to camp by the water. It is available for active and retired military, National Guard, reservists, 100% DAV, DoD and sponsored guests. Reservations are accepted; maximum stay is 30 days.

Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base Campgrounds

• Del Mar Beach Resort
  A year-round oceanfront resort that offers accommodations from luxury villas to RV and tent camping, all available for active and retired military, National Guard, reservists, 100% DAV, DoD and guests. Active duty Marine Corps personnel may reserve 12 weeks in advance. Other military (active, reserve, retired) may reserve 10 weeks in advance. All others may reserve 9 weeks in advance. Maximum 15 night stay from April through October; one month stay the rest of the year. Two pet limit, however, dogs are not allowed on the beach or in the rentals.
  
  
• Lake O'Neill Recreation Park
  Year-round RV and tent camping is available for active and retired military, National Guard, reservists, 100% DAV and guests. Reservations are accepted. A maximum stay of 14 days during peak season; 30-day stay during off season. Civilian guests can stay 2 weeks for $4 extra per night with sponsor sign in. Recreational opportunities include fishing, rowboats, playgrounds, miniature golf, volleyball, softball, basketball and horseshoes.
  
  
• San Onofre Recreation Beach
  A year-round campground right near the beach, plus cottages on a bluff overlooking the ocean and a short walk to the beach.   One, two and three bedroom cottages are available, as well as full-service RV and group campsites. Each cottage has its own kitchen, bathroom, TV and BBQ grill. During the summer months (April through October), active duty stationed on a Marine Corps installation may reserve 12 weeks in advance. All other active duty and retired military may reserve 10 weeks in advance. Reserve and DoD employees and DoD retired may reserve 9 weeks in advance. During winter months, everyone can reserve 12 weeks in advance. Two pet limit per site; pets not allowed on the beach.
