The State Games of America
Presented by National University
The California State Games, managed by Sports San Diego, is thrilled to host the State Games of America presented by National University July 17-21, 2024. Run in tandem with the annual California State Games, the State Games of America is a biennial Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation.
California athletes will be able to compete alongside State Games medal winners as a part of their annual California State Games. Like every year, we welcome all California athletes to compete in their respective sports in Summer 2024 and get the unique experience of a national event.

The State Games of America
The State Games of America presented by National University is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation. There are currently 30 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games.
The event is hosted every two years on the odd year (i.e. 2015, 2017, etc.). Due to COVID, this event has been pushed to an even year and it will remain on that schedule. The 2024 SGA is set for San Diego, CA.
The State Games of America have been conducted biennially since 1999, with host cities including:

The National Congress of State Games (NCSG) is a membership organization comprised of 30 Summer State Games and 10 Winter State Games organizations and a member of the United States Olympic Committee's Multi Sport Organizational Council. The mission of the NCSG is to support State Games member organizations in the promotion of health, fitness and character building through multi-sport competitions and physical activities.
