On Convoy Street, fabulous Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese cultures and cuisines all collide in an amalgamation of flavors, sights and sounds.
Steaming hot pots filled with tofu and handmade noodles, spicy kimchi, fresh sushi and baked tea cakes can all be savored on Convoy Street, unofficially named Asian Restaurant Row. Lined with wonderful restaurants, bakeries, specialty shops, day spas and supermarkets, Convoy Street surely fits the bill for authentic Asian cuisine. Here, fabulous Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese cultures and cuisines all collide in a wonderful amalgamation of flavors, sights and sounds.
Popular restaurants include RakiRaki Ramen and Tsukemen with a line out the door from 6:00 PM on, and Shabu Shabu House where you cook your own meats and vegetable and then dip them into delicious sauces.
Tofu House with hot pots of Korean Style tofu paired with purple rice and assorted kimchi is a great choice as is Manna Korean BBQ. Offering all-you-can-eat dining with two choices: seafood or short ribs and ribeye, wonderful dipping sauces and a two hour time limit.
If you're a fan of dim sum, head to Jasmine Seafood Restaurant or Emerald Chinese Cuisine for brunch. Classic Chinese, both are set in large banquet rooms and an army of ladies pushing silver carts filled with delicious small tea cake bites.
If Craft Beer is your passion then Common Theory is a great place to partake with an Asian spin. Beer selections include 20+ local beers on tap and the menu features everything from burgers and flatbreads to garlic noodles and fresh mussels.
And, if you like to mix and mingle with the locals, try one of several Asian markets in the area. Zion Market features a tasty Korean indoor food court as well as a French-Asian fusion bakery complete with cronuts on the weekends.
A little of the beaten path but in the heart of it all, Convoy Street is well worth the visit and a sure bet to satisfying any craving for Far East cuisine.
